<p><a href="https://intelligence.businessinsider.com/welcome?utm_source=House&amp;utm_medium=Edit&amp;utm_term=MV&amp;utm_content=link&amp;utm_campaign=BIIMobile" target="_blank">Business Insider Intelligence</a> recently issued a report that analyzes the impact of 4G LTE and the improved devices on mobile growth, examines who is watching mobile video and how they watch it, and details the mobile video monetizing opportunity.</p>
<p>The cause behind mobile video’s impending explosion boils down to these four things:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Although the U.S. mobile video audience has increased to 36 million viewers, there is still significant mobile device growth to come</strong></li>
<li><strong>Access to 4G LTE has increased</strong></li>
<li><strong>Mobile provides new opportunities and more choices for video viewing prompting a higher demand in mobile video</strong></li>
<li><strong>Device design (aka larger screens and speedier processors) helps</strong></li>
</ul>

We created <a href="http://www.youplusdallas.com/videopinions/what-should-the-danettes-be-for-halloween" target="_blank">a totally unique web and mobile platform</a> designed to generate crowd-sourced fan-based content that is currently featured on The Box Score television show twice weekly.</p>

<p>Civitas and Matthews Southwest pooled their resources to pay for the video marketing project.  Partnerships such as this one are important to drive a superior ROI as both organizations are setting the stage for future real estate transactions in the area.</p>

Mike Mueller, President and CEO of NYLO Hotels, saw the newly revitalized South Side community as the perfect location for NYLO&#8217;s, unique lifestyle hotel. After witnessing the existing former Dallas Coffin Company transform into an ultra modern NYLO Hotel, he deemed it <a href="http://www.greenlodgingnews.com/boutique-urban-style-nylo-dallas-south-side-aims-for" target="_blank">the first of many</a> conversion products.</p>

<p>This hotel is part of Matthews Southwest’s strategy to transform the Cedars into one of the top urban neighborhoods in Dallas.   Matthews Southwest continues to develop the area, most recently teaming up with the Canadian firm, Tricon Capital Group, to purchase 60 acres on Riverfront Boulevard and Cadiz Street in South Dallas’ Trinity River corridor.  The $400 million project will feature a mix of residential, commercial and retail.  This development has the potential to transform the area near South Side on Lamar and the NYLO South Dallas Hotel into one of the premier communities near downtown Dallas.</p>

<p>When House of Blues’ marketing executives wanted to create a campaign to promote <a href="http://www.houseofblues.com/venues/clubvenues/lasvegas/">House of Blues Las Vegas</a> inside the <a href="http://www.mandalaybay.com/">Mandalay Bay Hotel</a>, they turned to <a href="http://www.youplusmedia.com/">YouPlus Media</a> to create eye-catching content.  A two and a half minute piece focusing on the entire House of Blues experience was created as well as a 30 and 60 second commercial promoting Carlos Santana’s series of shows at the venue. That content is now currently broadcast on the hotel’s in-room television channel as well as screens throughout the hotel.</p>

YouPlus Media cast actors to play a young couple visiting HOB Las Vegas. The young man is played by <a href="http://www.rockyfain.com/Rocky_Fain/Home.html">Rocky Fain</a>, an actor and model who has shared a scene with the legendary Al Pacino in ‘Ocean’s Thirteen.’ A Dallas actress seen in a previous YouPlus Media video, <a href="http://www.youplusdallas.com/stories/knox-henderson" target="_blank">Knox-Henderson</a>, plays his girlfriend. The video follows the young couple and presents a first-hand look at Crossroads restaurant, the Foundation Room, and the Company Store. The couple also takes part in the world-famous gospel brunch, attends Santana’s show and gets a chance to meet the music legend, allowing viewers an intimate look at their exciting weekend experience.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-1270" title="best dallas website" src="http://www.youplusmedia.com/content/2012/09/bestofaward.png" alt="" width="91" height="98" />Last week, YouPlus Dallas was honored to win the Dallas Observer’s ‘<a href="http://www.dallasobserver.com/bestof/2012/award/best-dallas-website-2819506/" target="_blank">Best Dallas Website</a>’ for a second year in a row.  Recognition is always wonderful but being chosen for one of the Dallas Observer’s ‘Best Of’ awards is truly an honor as those involved with the process are sincerely invested in sharing what they love most about our city.</p>
<p>Joe Tone, editor at the <a href="http://www.dallasobserver.com/" target="_blank">Dallas Observer</a>, said, “The news business can be very cynical. This is the one week a year where that cynicism (mostly) falls away and we just gush about our favorite things. It feels strange, but it feels good.”</p>
<p>The Observers ‘<a href="http://www.dallasobserver.com/bestof/" target="_blank">Best Of</a>’ awards set themselves apart by not giving into the politics of voting, they simply observe their city and pick what they believe to be the best.</p>

And either someone argues the best, or, in certain categories, we rely on the expert: the food critic for “<a href="http://www.dallasobserver.com/bestof/2012/award/best-burger-2821692/" target="_blank">Best Burger</a>,” the theater critic for “<a href="http://www.dallasobserver.com/bestof/2012/award/best-actor-2821652/" target="_blank">Best Actor</a>,” the bars and clubs editor for “<a href="http://www.dallasobserver.com/bestof/2012/award/best-new-bar-2821781/" target="_blank">Best New Ba</a><a href="http://www.dallasobserver.com/bestof/2012/award/best-new-bar-2821781/" target="_blank">r</a>.” It’s like Family Feud but without the cool music,” Tone said.</p>
<p>Another reason to be a proud recipient of a Dallas Observer ‘Best Of’ is the intense creativity and thought that goes into the process every year. They don’t simply honor the “Best Burger” or “<a href="http://www.dallasobserver.com/bestof/2012/award/best-local-band-2821591/" target="_blank">Best Local Band</a>,” they delve deep into the character of our city and find things both strange and unique to award, like “<a href="http://www.dallasobserver.com/bestof/2012/award/best-grocery-store-for-creepers-2819432/" target="_blank">Best Grocery Store for Creepers</a>” or “<a href="http://www.dallasobserver.com/bestof/2012/award/best-happy-hour-to-meet-a-hopefully-single-businessman-2821754/" target="_blank">Best Happy Hour to Meet a (Hopefully) Single Businessman</a>.”</p>
<p><a href="http://www.youplusmedia.com/2012/09/24/youplus-dallas-wins-dallas-observers-best-dallas-website-a-second-year/dallas-observer/" rel="attachment wp-att-1271"><img class="alignleft size-full wp-image-1271" title="dallas observer" src="http://www.youplusmedia.com/content/2012/09/dallas-observer.jpeg" alt="" width="250" height="287" /></a>“Usually that indicates that there was a place we wanted to celebrate that didn’t fit naturally into a category,” Tone said. “<a href="http://www.dallasobserver.com/bestof/2012/award/best-place-to-leave-your-toddler-unattended-while-you-have-a-cocktail-2819528/" target="_blank">Best Place to Leave Your Toddler Unattended While You Have a Cocktail</a>” is obviously not something we spent a lot of time debating. Someone clearly ditched their kid at Bookmarks, the library at the mall, and went for a mojito. Then they thought, Man, this is the best! And thus, a new category was born.”</p>

<p>TechCrunch recently posted an article explaining how YouTube has become a form of &#8216;visual journalism.&#8217; Instead of searching <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QH2-TGUlwu4" target="_blank">&#8216;Nyan Cat&#8217;</a>, YouTubers have been busily searching news related items, many of them contributed by citizens.</p>

<p>The table is worth spending some time with.  While the top spots for social media are dominated by familiar sports and teams such as soccer and FC Barcelona, ESPN, the NFL and the NBA,  make sure you click on the &#8220;Other&#8221; tag because you will see that the WWE and UFC have much stronger social media platforms than say the NFL.</p>
<p>Each of these teams and the leagues have passionate fans that would love to voice their opinions.  You+Media and DIRECTV have created the <a title="Dan Patrick's Box Score social engagement platform" href="http://www.youplusdallas.com/cityblog/sports/2012/02/dan-patrick-directv-and-you/" target="_blank">Dan Patrick&#8217;s Box Score social engagement platform</a>.  This social engagement platform will now allow avid sports fans directly engage with the Danettes on the Box Score television show.  Sports teams, brands that rely on game day watching, leagues and other sports related entities now have a three screen solution, connecting avid sports fans online, mobile and television.</p>

<p>You+Media had the opportunity to work with our client <a title="Under Armour" href="http://www.underarmour.com" target="_blank">Under Armour</a> and their digital agency, <a title="Red Tettemer Partners" href="http://redtettemer.com/" target="_blank">Red Tettemer Partners</a> to create a series of training tips that have been incorporated into UA&#8217;s <a title="What's Beautiful Campaign" href="http://whatsbeautiful.ua.com/" target="_blank">What&#8217;s Beautiful Campaign</a>,  a competition designed to redefine the female athlete.  Shot on location at Under Armour&#8217;s headquarters in Baltimore, our team worked with three trainers, Nancy Halterman, <a title="Nick Costa" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDzWA2CpTeM" target="_blank">Nate Costa</a>, and Curtis Williams to produce 50 training tips.</p>
<p>Three winners will be the new faces of Under Armour and have their lives sponsored for a year.  The campaign uses social media to encourage women to declare their fitness goal, then document their experiences online. Thousands of women entered the competition, and recently, Under Armour named their <a title="top-ten finalists" href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1fFq3J0BNo&amp;feature=channel&amp;list=UL" target="_blank">top ten-finalists</a>.</p>
